Solutions / Retailers

The store is where every upstream mistake is either caught or sold.

A dispensary carries the errors of everyone who touched the product before it arrived. Smoke Alarm puts a firewall at the dock, compares Metrc, your point of sale, its own ledger and the shelf package by package, and keeps the record of how each difference was resolved. It works beside the POS you run today; the register is there when you want it.

Where it goes wrong today

The operational problems, not the scare stories.

  • Deliveries are accepted into inventory before anyone has compared them with the manifest line by line.
  • A short delivery is discovered weeks later at a count, when the vendor conversation is hardest to have.
  • Metrc, the point of sale and the shelf each say something different, and nobody owns the difference.
  • Refusals, buybacks and expiration returns are agreed by phone and text, with no evidence kept.
  • Every movement is in someone's head or a spreadsheet, so the trail has to be rebuilt after the fact.
  • The register and the compliance checks are two separate jobs at a busy counter.
How Smoke Alarm helps

What it does for you today, and what is still ahead.

Each card carries the honest status of the capability it rests on. Nothing on the roadmap is sold as live.

  • The manifest is imported from Metrc or a CSV, every package is scanned at the dock, and anything short, extra or wrong becomes a case before it can reach the shelf.

  • Metrc, your POS, Smoke Alarm's ledger and your physical count compared package by package, with a reproducible report and a CSV. Reads only; never writes to Metrc or your POS.

  • Discrepancy cases

    Available

Seven categories of receiving discrepancy, each with an owner, evidence, a human decision and the final inventory state. AI explanations are advisory and marked as such.

  • Refusals, short deliveries, buybacks and expiration returns tracked with photos and a secure vendor link, so both sides work from the same record.

  • Cart, compliance rules at the sale, ID verification, New York receipt fields, shifts, voids and returns. Running on pilot locations; live sales open after the go-live checklist.

Waiting on: Go-live: confirmed tax rates per location, Metrc sales authorization and payload mapping.

  • An append-only log with before and after on every decision, and a dated evidence binder with its SHA-256 fingerprint.
