Company

Audit Shield AI

Audit Shield AI is a minority- and service-disabled veteran-owned business with Rochester, New York roots, co-founded by Charles Underwood and Ken Clark. We build SmokeAlarm to make everyday dispensary work clearer, from receiving a delivery to reviewing the records behind a sale. Serving 3 active customers in the Rochester area.

Audit Shield Reconcile works beside the point of sale you already use. Bring available records together, investigate differences, and keep the evidence behind your team’s decisions.

What we build

Two products, one architecture.

Smoke Alarm

AvailablePreview

Keep receiving, inventory and the evidence behind your work together. Explore the register and kiosk in product preview. Storefront and delivery features are planned. Customer access depends on supported features, approved setup and authorized records.

Platform overview

Audit Shield Reconcile

Available

Compare available records from Metrc, your point of sale, SmokeAlarm and physical counts. Review differences package by package, keep a reproducible report, and let your team decide the next step. Reconcile does not write to Metrc or your point of sale.

Audit Shield Reconcile
How we work

The operating principles, in plain words.

These are the rules the software is built to, not marketing lines. Each one is checked in code before a page says it.

  • Follow the record

Keep the sale, payment, inventory movement and receipt traceable, so your team can find the evidence behind a question.

  • See inventory clearly

Compare available inventory records and physical counts. Bring differences into view before deciding what needs to change.

  • Check reporting outcomes

Supported reporting workflows keep a record of submissions and responses. An unconfirmed submission stays a question to resolve.

  • Human review before consequential actions

A person approves anything that changes a record or leaves the building. AI explains and suggests; it never decides and never does the arithmetic.

  • Data minimisation

An ID check stores the method and the result, not the image. Consumer identity fields are kept only where a verification event is not enough.

  • Clear availability

See which features are available, in preview, require setup or are planned. Public walkthroughs are illustrative; your account needs authorized data for real insights.

Where

New York first.

Smoke Alarm is built around New York’s adult-use workflows: the receiving rules at the dock, the statutory receipt fields at the register, the state and local cannabis taxes as versioned rules a person confirms, and Metrc as the system of record. It is built on the Metrc third-party API with each licensee’s own key. The company makes no claim of state approval or certification; compliance is the licensee’s outcome, and the software is designed to reduce the exposure.
