Solutions / Microbusinesses

One licence. One store. The same controls, sized to fit.

A holder of New York's microbusiness licence runs receiving, inventory, sales and the record-keeping with a handful of people. Smoke Alarm gives that team the same receiving firewall, reconciliation and audit trail the multi-location operators use, at a tier and a kit sized for one location.

Where it goes wrong today

The operational problems, not the scare stories.

  • The owner is the receiver, the budtender and the bookkeeper, so the manifest check is whatever there was time for.
  • A few packages out of place is a large share of a small inventory, and it shows in every count.
  • The point of sale and Metrc are reconciled by eye, when they are reconciled at all.
  • A vendor's short delivery is absorbed because there is no record to raise it with.
  • Enterprise software is priced and sized for a chain, not for one store and three people.
How Smoke Alarm helps

What it does for you today, and what is still ahead.

Each card carries the honest status of the capability it rests on. Nothing on the roadmap is sold as live.

  • $99 a month for one location: a scheduled reconciliation every day, the findings list and email support. Reads Metrc and your POS; never writes to either.

  • Import the manifest, scan the delivery with a phone camera or a handheld, and let a person decide each difference before it becomes inventory.

  • Every package carries a state and every movement is an attributed, timestamped entry, so a small inventory stays exact.

  • Short deliveries, refusals and returns recorded with evidence and raised on a secure vendor link.

  • One register station with the compliance rules at the sale and New York receipt fields, when you are ready to switch. No base subscription.

Waiting on: Go-live: confirmed tax rates per location, Metrc sales authorization and payload mapping.

  • The dated, fingerprinted binder is built as you work, not assembled the night before an inspection.

How implementation works

Reconcile Micro is the smallest of 3 tiers; when a store outgrows its limits, the import that would pass them is refused with the numbers behind it and Reconcile Pro removes them. Smoke Alarm describes New York’s microbusiness licence by name only and does not restate the licence’s rules.

Bring one manifest and one register close. Twenty minutes with Ken and Charles, and you will know what Reconcile Micro would have found.
