PlannedSmoke Alarm Storefront

Platform / Sell

Your storefront. Your customers. The register's inventory.

Smoke Alarm Storefront is each dispensary's own branded online store, running on the same inventory and the same transaction engine as the register. It is not a Smoke Alarm marketplace: the dispensary owns the customer relationship and Smoke Alarm provides the infrastructure underneath it.

A branded online store on the same inventory and transaction engine as the register. Designed; not built. Nothing on this page can be ordered today; the preview beside it shows the design.

The Compliance Technology Fee is Smoke Alarm's fee, disclosed before the order completes and separate from processing and tax. Taxes are calculated at checkout from the location's configured rules.

Where it sits

The order enters the same chain the register sells from.

A storefront order is not a separate system with its own stock count. It is a stage in the one transaction architecture, ahead of the point of sale and the payment.

Audit Shield records a status at every stage. The chips above follow one example transaction from the dock to the audit log.

The principle

One store per dispensary, on one inventory.

Three commitments shape the design. They come from how the platform already treats inventory and customers, not from a storefront template.

  • Planned

    Branded, and yours

Each licensed dispensary gets its own storefront under its own name and brand. There is no statewide Smoke Alarm marketplace, no shared catalogue and no Smoke Alarm brand between you and your customer.

  • Planned

The customer relationship stays with the dispensary

Orders, pickups and deliveries are the dispensary's. Smoke Alarm records the minimum a transaction needs and provides the infrastructure; it does not build an audience of its own from your customers.

  • Available

The same inventory as the register

No separate website stock. The storefront reads the one operational inventory state the register sells from, so it never promises a unit the shelf does not hold, and every unit it reserves is visible at the counter.

How an order would move

Reserve, pay, collect or deliver, reconcile.

The designed path for a storefront order, with the honest status of each step. Only the inventory ledger and the payment orchestrator it would rely on exist today.

  1. 01

    Browse the live inventory

    Planned

Products with accepted, in-stock packages at that location, priced with the total including tax shown wherever a price is displayed.

  2. 02

    The order reserves inventory

    Planned

Each unit moves to RESERVED in the same ledger the register reads, instead of being promised from a website count. The reservation is a movement with a time and a reason.

  3. 03

The fee is disclosed before completion

    Planned

The Compliance Technology Fee is shown before the order completes, separate from processing and from tax; taxes are calculated at checkout from the location's configured rules.

  4. 04

    Payment through the orchestrator

    Requires setup

Cash at the counter today. Electronic tender arrives through a contracted provider's adapter; until a processor agreement is in place a storefront order can only be paid at pickup.

  5. 05

    Pickup at the counter

    Planned

The order becomes an ordinary sale at the register, with the ID check and every sale rule applied, the way a kiosk order already does.

  6. 06

    Or delivery, in custody

    Planned

A prepaid order is picked, packed, manifested and handed to a driver; every custody change is an event. Read how on the Smoke Alarm Delivery page.

Inventory states

Many states. Never competing truths.

The storefront adds no inventory of its own. It moves units through states the platform already defines, and Reconcile compares the result with Metrc and the shelf like any other movement.

  1. AVAILABLE
  2. RESERVED
  3. SOLD
  4. DELIVERY ASSIGNED
  5. DRIVER CUSTODY
  6. RETURN PENDING
  7. RETURNED

RESERVED is the storefront's state and is on the roadmap with it. AVAILABLE, SOLD and the return states are how the ledger already works; the delivery custody states arrive with Smoke Alarm Delivery.

Status

Designed and priced. Not built.

The storefront is shown so operators can plan a full replacement of their stack. It is never sold as live, and the Land, Prove, Switch, Replace path does not depend on it: Audit Shield Reconcile works beside your current point of sale today.
