What does Smoke Alarm actually do?
It watches inventory for licensed dispensaries. Every hour it pulls what your POS, your state tracking system and your own counts say is on hand, reconciles them package by package, and raises a finding when they disagree. It then guides your team through investigating and documenting the discrepancy.
Does Smoke Alarm replace Metrc?
No. Metrc (or your state's tracking system) remains the system of record. Smoke Alarm reads from it through an authorised connection and compares it with your POS and physical counts. It never writes to Metrc except through a correction your team has approved, and until your credentials are connected it runs on a clearly labelled simulated connection.
How does this protect my license?

How do I see it working with my dispensary?

How does the hourly AI work?
A server-side agent checks your integrations, takes fresh inventory snapshots and runs a deterministic reconciliation every hour. The arithmetic is never done by a language model. AI only explains findings in plain language and prioritises next steps; if no AI key is configured you get clearly labelled deterministic summaries instead.
Does Smoke Alarm change my inventory records or file anything with a regulator?
No. It never rewrites expected inventory and never files anything. Recounts revise the physical count, and any correction to expected inventory is proposed, approved and recorded as an auditable transaction.
